“it all begins with just a wish… It’s just something that you can only feel. you’re not really going to be able to touch, to have it, to take it. you have to see it to believe it, to feel it, and that’s the power of a wish.”

Make-A-Wish

The mission of Make-A-Wish focuses on creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Although many wishes may first appear as gifts or singular events, the impact of each wish goes well beyond one object or one moment in time. From the children, to their families, to the community of volunteers and medical professionals- a wish has been considered to be a spark in their lives that can ignite courage and optimism as well as strengthen families and communities.

We have been fortunate to be involved with Make-A-Wish for many years now helping each child and their family tell their unique story. We aim to find a balance between capturing enough moments on camera while also taking the time to put cameras down and simply engage on a more personal level. Many of these children never expected to be facing such critical illnesses and we appreciate that they and their families are willing to give their time to share their stories so that others can see how the true impact of a wish.
