“working with partnerships is really a hallmark of how the forest service engages our communities.”

US Forest service Green mountain and finger lakes national forests

The only public, federally managed National Forests in Vermont and New York are the Green Mountain National Forest and the Finger Lakes National Forest. These forests are important to manage because of wildlife, water, wilderness, fish, timber, recreation, and more.

We focused our efforts on telling the story of one multifaceted partnership stemming from CorpsTHAT leading the way to connect the Deaf Community and the outdoors. Along with the Lexington School for the Deaf and Vermont Adaptive, these four partners expanded opportunities to explore education, recreation, and careers in the outdoors. Our goal was to create films and photographs that would resonate with the partners so that they could show this with their respective communities and highlight the common goals that were shared by everyone involved.
