One family

The work of One Family is important for preventing family homelessness in Massachusetts through advocacy, education, and innovation. Their work is best described by Femi, one of their Credential to Career Coaches, “To someone who’s not known where they were going to sleep that evening or someone who’s not known when they were going to have a home of their own, I think that security, there’s nothing like it. It’s so, so, so meaningful and so important and it’s what we want all of our families to feel and it’s why we’re so dedicated and driven to the work.”

When we first met the team behind One Family we could tell how meaningful and impactful the work they were doing was. But when we got to meet the people and their families who were directly impacted, that’s when we truly understood why One Family exists, how strong the relationships are amongst their community, and how supporting parents facing homelessness is a multifaceted approach that is not just appreciated, but also needed. Everyone involved who invited us into their homes or places of work to share their stories were generous, hard working, and welcoming individuals that make up the family that is One Family.
